Professor Jide Peter Jimoh has emerged the new Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Lagos State University, LASU.
Jimoh was unanimously nominated and elected at the election held at the Digital Media and Research Centre, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Ojo Campus on Monday.
In a statement issued to announce the outcome of the election, his emergence was said to have been ratified by the Board of Studies of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, after due deliberation.
Jimoh who succeeds Professor Sunday Olayinka Alawode is expected to assume office on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Alawode’s tenure will expire on Monday, March 3, 2025.
In his acceptance speech, Jimoh was quoted as promising to “leverage his wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to drive advancement and foster excellence within the Faculty and Lagos State University at large.”
He was said to have also pledged to uphold the values, standards and processes that define the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies by fostering an environment where academic excellence thrives, promoting and supporting the welfare of every faculty member, and defending the interest of all students within the framework of the University’s regulations.
The new Dean emphasised his commitment to encouraging innovation and technology in service delivery.
