A motorcyclist, otherwise referred to as okada ride, simply identified as Mr. Abe has been swept away by flood at the canal near Ile Epo Bus Stop area of Alimoso local government area of Lagos State.
The incident occurred following the flooding that resulted from the heavy rainfall in Lagos State that lasted many hours.
The spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, made this known on Saturday while giving report on the emergency situation in some parts of the state visited.
He said the motorcyclist refused to heed the warning of his colleagues not to ride near the canal at the Ile Epo Bus Stop area.

Mr. Farinloye also disclosed that NEMA had taken relief materials to some persons affected by the effect of the rain.
Some of the material said to have been supplied included mattresses.
His words: “Further to the flood affected populations at Papa Ashafa, Fashola communities, NEMA along with the Disaster Management Unit of the Nigeria Police, team of the Nigeria Police Force from Dopemu Divisional Police Station, Lagos State Neighbourhood Security Corp, in conjunction with the Community Development Associations of Papa Ashafa, Fashola and others have distributed emergency relief aid to the flood impacted communities.”
FrontPage had reported that no fewer than 200 persons had been displaced in Orile Agege local government area of Lagos State following the downpour which started in the early hours of Saturday.
Some of the displaced persons took refuge in four churches in the area.
The Director General of NEMA, Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed, ordered the immediate release of relief materials to the displaced persons.
