A 23-year-old man has been arrested by the police in Lagos State for allegedly burgling a flat and raping a 47-year-old woman.
The spokesperson of the Lagos State command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on Monday while speaking with journalists.
He said the victim reported the incident which occurred at about 3.00 a.m. on March 26, in Ikotun area, at the Ikotun Police Division.

She alleged the suspect broke into her room and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
Her cries reportedly drew the attention of a neighbour who came to her aid.
The suspect allegedly attacked the neighbour with a sharp object, injuring his forehead.
A patrol team was promptly deployed to the scene and arrested the suspect.
Both the victim and injured neighbour were taken to hospital for treatment.
The police spokesperson said an investigation into the matter was ongoing.
