The leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State have endorsed the nomination form of the deputy governor and APC governorship consensus candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of the party’s primaries for the 2027 governorship elections.

The nomination form was signed by 120 bonafide leaders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) of Lagos State.

Those who signed the nomination form on Wednesday and Thursday were members of the Governance Advisory Council, GAC, local government chairmen, former and current public office holders, state and local government party executives and party members across Lagos State.

While signing Dr. Hamzat’s nomination form as required by the APC guidelines ahead of the party’s primary elections, the leaders and members of the ruling party expressed confidence in the candidacy of the deputy governor and promised to support him.

Dr. Hamzat is the consensus candidate for the APC governorship primary election holding in Lagos next month.

He has already been endorsed by President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and members of the Governance Advisory Council, as well as party leaders in different parts of Lagos State.

The deputy governor’s aspiration ahead of next month’s gubernatorial primary received a major boost on Thursday as another APC aspirant, Dr. Olajide Adeniran (Jandor), stepped down for him. Former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode also congratulated the deputy governor on his emergence as the APC consensus candidate.
