Two children have been recovered dead from the debris of a partial building collapse at 25 Ajao Street, CWC, by Olainukan Bus Stop, Ishawo, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The children were trapped when the fence of the next building to theirs collapsed at about 11.30 a.m. during a heavy rainfall.

The Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Territorial Office, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident on Saturday in Lagos.

He gave the names of the children as Rakib Atolagbe, 9 years and Mujib Atolagbe, 7 years.

He regretted that it was unfortunate that the distress call was not properly channelled at the right time to those whose responsibility it was to save the lives of the children.

He said Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA, were on ground to assess the situation.
