Professor Tunde Ope-Davies of the Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, UNILAG, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the African Literary Metadata, ALMEDA.
The announcement was made in a statement by the communication unit of the University of Lagos on Friday.
ALMEDA is a five-year research project sponsored by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme which is domiciled at the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

The appointment is in recognition of the frontline role of Professor Ope-Davies in promoting and sustaining Digital Humanities projects in Africa.
His appointment covers the full lifespan of the project, September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2028.
Professor Tunde Ope-Davies is a Professor of English, Digital Cultures and Discourse Studies.
He is the founding Director and Principal Investigator at the Centre for Digital Humanities, CEDHUL, UNILAG.
