Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been declared the winner of Imo State 2019 governorship poll.
This is as the election of Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was nullified.
The verdict was given by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
The Supreme Court declared that the lower courts erred by rejecting the evidence tendered before them that votes from 388 polling units were not credited to the APC and Hope Uzodinma.
In the declaration, the seven-man panel of the Supreme Court announced that Ihedioha did not win the majority of votes cast during the guber election.
In the judgment which was delivered by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the court therefore directed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to withdraw the Certificate of Return from Ihedioha and issue a new one to Uzodima.
