Former chairman of Ijebu East local government area of Ogun State, Mr. Wale Adedayo, has announced his intention to contest for the post of the chairman in the November 16 2024 local government election in the state.
Recall that in August 2023, Adedayo was suspended for three months over alleged cases of maladministration and was subsequently impeached.
In a statement titled “A call to action: Rejuvenating our land”, on his Facebook wall, Adedayo said he would be contesting on the platform of the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party, NNPP.
Stressing his commitment to rejuvenating Ijebu East local government area, Adedayo called for the support of the people in every way possible.

According to him, the idea to contest was a collective effort to rejuvenate the land and he promised not to fail the people.
The statement reads:
