Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

It weighed 8,780 kilogrammes (19,356 lb 9 oz).

The recognition was announced on Monday by the Guinness World Records, GWR, on its X handle.

The announcement reads: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”

Hilda Baci achieved the milestone in partnership with Gino.

The event was held on September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival’ with Hilda Baci.

The occasion was witnessed by thousands of people.

It would be recalled that Hilda Baci had in 2023 set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
