Oba of Benin, Omo n’Oba Nedo, Uku Apkolokpolo, Ewuare II, is the shining light of Benin Kingdom, the chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, ESSC, Godwin Dudu-Orumen, has said.
Dudu-Orumen make the remark as he rejoiced with the monarch on his birthday and anniversary of ascension to the throne of the Benin Kingdom, which fall on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
Dudu-Orumen said his spiritual guidance and cultural strength was showing powerfully in holding the people together in the face of mounting cultural and spiritual challenges.
According to him, the Oba’s vast experience in the public sector most of which he spent serving his country in an ambassadorial capacity, coupled with his stint at the United Nations, had more than equipped him with rich knowledge in governance, which he is deploying to guide his people.
“Oba Ewuare II is a man of many parts; he is an uncommon leader of men who combines in his personality, a rich blend of culture and tradition on the one hand, and modern social and political ethos on the other. The three years he has spent on the throne has brought peace and unity to the kingdom,” he said.
