Ogun State Police Command said it had tactically deployed its men to the different parts of the state to ensure adequate security during the Easter celebration.
This is appealed to members of the public to alert the Police whenever they noticed any strange face(s), gathering or movement in their area.
The steps taken, the police command said, was to ensure adequate security during the Easter period.
In a statement issued by its spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the command said the job of ensuring security was everybody’s business.
The statement reads:
In view of the Easter celebration coming up on 2nd to 5th of April 2021, Ogun State Police Command wishes to assure residents of the state that elaborate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure hitch free Easter celebration.
- The Command, knowing-fully well that the State is the headquarters of various religious bodies, which in no doubt will attract influx of people from different parts of the country, as well as outside the country to the state, is leaving no stone unturned in order to secure lives and properties of residents as well as that of visitors.
- In view of this, large numbers of Policemen have been tactically deployed by the Commissioner of Police CP Edward A. Ajogun Psc across the length and breadth of the state, with a clear mandate of ensuring crime free Easter celebration. Men of Special Units such as SWAT, PMF and Anti-kidnapping section are also being deployed to nip in the bud any incident that may want to rare its ugly head.
- The Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun Psc, while felicitating with the Christian faithful in the state, enjoin them to reflect on the reason for crucifixion of our lord Jesus Christ and be good ambassadors of Christ always.
