The Department of State Services, DSS, has begun investigation of the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, AbdulRasheed Bawa.
Already, he is in the custody of the security agency.
The Public Relations Officer of the DSS, Mr. Peter Afunanya, made this known in a statement he issued.
He said Bawa arrived the DSS office following an invitation.
“The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him,” Afunanya said.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu suspended Bawa from office indefinitely on Wednesday
The suspension was made known in a statement by the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey.
According to him, the suspension was to allow for a thorough investigation into “weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.”
Bawa was directed to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the commission, who would oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.
