The Presidency has described as mild, the misstep of President Bola Tinubu at the Eagle Square, venue of Democracy Day, in Abuja.
The president slipped as he was boarding the parade vehicle on the occasion and the video has been trending.
But reacting to concerns expressed, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Mr. Dada Olusegun, said it was a “mild misstep.”
His statement made on his X handle reads: “Mr President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues.”

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said the president was a human being afterall.
On his X handle, his statement reads: “President Tinubu is not a Superman. He is human like all of us. President Biden has had several slips in the last three years. Even the younger Barack Obama slipped while President. Political leaders are human. Slipping should not detract from the import of Democracy Day celebration.”
