The Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, has directed all parishes within the fold to collect special offering for youth development every third Sunday of the month.
The directive was issued in a statement by the Head of Communication of CCC, Mr. Kayode Ajala, on Saturday.
The statement recalled that the CCC head had earlier in 2011 directed that every third Sunday be set aside for youths.
His words: “In 2011, a pastoral pronouncement was made setting aside the third Sunday of the month for the youth of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide.
“It was also explicitly stated that the youth were to conduct the service, make the announcements, preach the sermon, and perform other duties during the service on the third Sunday of every month.
“While some parishes of the fold complied and implemented the declarations of that pastoral pronouncement to the letter, others are yet to comply.”
Reverend Oshoffa, therefore seized the opportunity to reiterate the 2011 order adding that, “going forward, a special collection must be raised, alongside other regular collections, on the third Sunday of the month for youth development.”
According to him, “the special collection does not belong to the parish but must be paid into a dedicated account meant for Youth and Education Development Committee” of the church.
He urged all Heads of Diocese, Regional Heads, Zonal Heads, District, Area Heads and Shepherds to ensure absolute compliance with the directive.
