Industry analysts attribute the immediate chart success to the combined streaming power of both artistes, particularly highlighting the “feature effect” of Asake.

Asake enters the release holding the record as Spotify Nigeria’s number-one most-streamed artiste of all time, commanding over 8.6 million monthly listeners and surpassing 3.6 billion total career streams on the platform.

“Chanel” is projected to make a strong debut on the official TurnTable Top 100 charts in the coming week, as radio airplay and digital downloads continue to surge nationwide.

The post reads: “First African artists to reach major Spotify milestones:

3 billion — Wizkid, 4 billion — Wizkid,

5 billion — Wizkid, 6 billion — Wizkid,

The milestone came days after the release of Wizkid’s collaboration with DJ Tunez titled “State of Mind” on May 15, which recorded more than 685,000 Spotify streams globally within its first  day.

Earlier in January, ‘Big Wiz’, as the singer is fondly called by his teeming fans and industry peers, became the first African artiste to reach 10 billion streams on Spotify.

Entertainment stakeholders and fans have also described the milestone as another major moment for African music on the global stage.

The custom shop made the announcement in post on its Instagram page on Saturday, including a video of Burna Boy with members of the Venuum team.

The post reads: “VENUUM is officially creating the world’s first Widebody for the Bugatti Chiron. A one-of-one project built for someone very special to us, a member of the VENUUM family who is achieving massive success worldwide — @burnaboygram.

“This is not just a car. This is a fully bespoke vision, designed from scratch to push the Bugatti Chiron into a completely different dimension.

“In just a few weeks, the world will finally see the result. And honestly… it’s going to be absolutely brutal. Something never seen before.

“We are proud to be part of such an iconic project and even more proud to create it for someone we truly appreciate. Stay tuned… because 2026 is coming with huge surprises.”

The Grammy-winning music superstar had earlier shared a teaser about the car in post on his Instagram page, saying ,“I want a Bugatti Venuum Chiron, something one of one, diamonds on the car and the key holder.”

According to reports, Bugatti Chirons typically range from $3.5 million to over $5 million, depending on custom features.

The Widebody Bugatti Chiron will be the latest hyper car in Burna Boy’s impressive garage, sitting alongside other exotics like his Lamborghini Revuelto and Rolls-Royce Spectre.

The ceremony also recognised veteran actors Sola Sobowale and Kanayo O. Kanayo with the Industry Merit Award for their contributions to African cinema.

Other notable winners included “To Kill A Monkey”for Best Editing, “Beyond Olympic Glory” for Best Documentary, and “Inimba” for Best Series (Scripted).

The 12th edition of the AMVCA featured 32 award categories celebrating achievements in film, television and digital content creation across Africa.

The  five new songs added to the original 15-track  album include ‘Formation’ featuring Olamide, ‘Shake Shake’ with TML Vibez, ‘Blue Fire’ featuring Simi, and two solo records, ‘Life of the Faaji’ and ‘I Got Wiser On My Own.’

However, ‘Formation’ with Olamide makes the project historic, as it marks the first time both artists are collaborating for a song, in spite sharing a common trajectory in their careers.

Gold was signed to Olamide’s YBNL Nation in 2015 after his debut single ‘Sade’, released in 2014, went viral.

Beside the deluxe release, the singer has announced a live orchestral experience built around the project’s sound, though details on dates and venues are yet to be confirmed.

At the end of the contest, all three judges scored the bout 27-30 in favour of Efe, having demonstrated better stamina, precision and ring control throughout the fight.

Reflecting on the inaugural edition, Iyanda said the summit drew participation from respected figures across sectors, including group managing director of SO&U Udeme Ufot as chairman and founder of The Africa Soft Power Group Dr Nkiru Balonwu as keynote speaker, alongside panellists such as filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, founder Mike Dada and executive director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, Dr Shaibu Husseini who contributed to discussions on the direction of the creative economy.

“The first edition showed that there is a strong interest in serious engagement around the creative economy. We had contributions from experienced voices who helped set the tone for the kind of platform we are building,” Iyanda said.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the summit continues to expand its scope, attracting a diverse mix of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and emerging talents.

“This summit is designed as a meeting point for ideas, influence and execution. It is not just about conversations, but about outcomes that strengthen the creative economy,” Iyanda added.

He noted that the timing of the summit is significant as the country’s creative sector continues to evolve.

“Nigeria’s creative sector has grown in visibility, but the structures that support it are still evolving. The QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit is part of the effort to bring clarity, direction and serious engagement to that growth,” he said.

The 2026 edition will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and curated sessions addressing themes around innovation, growth, funding and the global positioning of Nigerian creative talent.

According to Iyanda, the long-term goal is to build a platform that remains relevant across generations.

“Our goal is to build a platform that remains useful over time, one that documents progress, connects stakeholders and contributes meaningfully to policy and practice,” he said.
