The burial programme for Madam Emily Abeni Bankole (nee Oliyide) commences today in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, with Service of Songs by Egbe Ajumogbadura, Egba Diocese.
Madam Bankole passed on on August 3, 2026 at the age of 96.
The service of songs today will begin at 5.00 p.m. at Adebesin’s Compound, 69, Irepodun Street, Behind Holy Trinity (Anglican) Church, Ikereku, Oju-Olona, Abeokuta.
The wake keep will follow on Thursday at the Premises of Holy Trinity (Anglican) Church, Ikereku, Oju-Olona, Abeokuta at exactly 5.00 p.m.
On Friday, the lying in state will take place at Adebesin’s Compound, 69, Irepodun Street, Behind Holy Trinity (Anglican) Church, Ikereku, Oju-Olona, Abeokuta.
The event will hold from 8.00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The burial which will also hold on Friday will commence with a church service at the Holy Trinity (Anglican) Church, Ikereku, Oju-Olona, Abeokuta, starting from 10.00 a.m.
Interment is scheduled to follows at the Egba Oke Ona Anglican Cemetery, Iberekodo, Abeokuta.
Reception and entertainment of guests will be held immediate after interment at St. John’s Nursery and Primary School (Private) Ground, Kuto, Abeokuta.
