Building collapse: Casualty figure increases, one more rescued

The number of casualties in the building collapse in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos State increased to two Saturday night with the recovery of the body of a man.

That was as the number of survivors increased to 15 as a man, described as a store-keeper, was rescued alive.

Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Officer, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, gave the update in a statement made available to FrontPage.

The collapsed three-storey building is located at 10 Oremeta Street, Ojodu, Lagos.

NEMA said it received the distress alerts about the building came at 0832hrs on Saturday.

While stating that search and rescue operation was still ongoing, he said the cause of the incident was not known as at the time of filing this report.
