Buhari’s remains expected Tuesday for burial in Daura

The remains of former president, Muhammadu Buhari, will be buried on Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State.

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State made this known on Monday while briefing journalists at the Government House in Katsina.

He said the decision was reached after due consultations with the family of the deceased and those in London where the remains were.

The governor said the remains were expected to arrive Nigeria at about 12.00 noon while they will be interred at about 2.00 p.m.

His words: “The burial arrangement for our father, the late president, who passed on yesterday in a hospital in London. We have made consultations with the family and people around in London, and we concluded that the body will arrive in Katsina tomorrow by 12 noon, and the burial is going to take place in Daura at about 2 p.m. These are the arrangements in place.

“On behalf of myself, the people and government of Katsina state will condole the family, and the people of Nigeria, especially His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the demise of his predecessor.

“May Almighty Allah give us the fortitude to bear the loss.”

The death of the former president was announced on Sunday by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Vice President, Kashim Shettima and the president’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, had since been directed to proceed to London for conveyance of the remains back home.
