BREAKING: Oyebanji sworn in as governor of Ekiti State
Abiodun Oyebanji being sworn in as Ekiti State governor

Mr Abiodun Oyebanji has been sworn in as the new governor of Ekiti State.

He takes over from Dr. Kayode Fayemi, whose tenure expired midnight of Saturday.

Oyebanji was sworn in on Sunday by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Oyewole Adeyeye.

64-year-old Chief Monisade Christiana Afuye was also sworn in as the deputy governor of the state.

It would be recalled that 54 years old Oyebanji, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won the June 18, 2022 election in the state.

Under Fayemi’s administration, Oyebanji served as the Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff to the Governor.
