BREAKING: Nentawe Yilwatda emerges APC national chairman

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has emerged as the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

His emergence was announced on Thursday during the meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, held in Abuja.

Yilwatda’s emergency followed the consensus decision of the NEC.

The motion for his adoption was moved by the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, while the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, seconded it.

Yilwatda succeeds Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who resigned from the position on June 27, 2025.

Ganduje was said to have resigned given the need to take care of his health as the reason for his action.

Born August 8, 1968, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, an engineer, is a professor and from Plateau State.

He was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as minister in October 2024.
