A former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and now a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun, has branded politicians forming coalition through the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as internally dislodged politicians whose fate is bound to end collectively in disarray.

Said Oyedokun: “I am emotionally disturbed at the way highly rated Alhaji Abubakar Atiku’s trend of political misfortune is now deteriorating. He  is descending from being a landlord of a political mansion to a squatter while scurrying among strange bedfellows who are merely playing dogs in the manger and ganging up to settle needless score against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Oyedokun made the remarks in his comment on the newly formed ADC, arguing that their political vendetta is misplaced because it was borne out of ” bad belle” and jealousy.

He said with attacks from different quarters aimed at distracting the president from the good works he is doing at present, it became important for Nigerians to disregard his adversaries and give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a full time of eight years within which undoubtedly, the intrinsic and dividends of his renewed Hope agenda would have fully been manifested .

According to him, the removal of subsidy, painful as it may have been at first has tremendously brought relief to state governors over their debts through unprecedented revenue allocations to them from the federal government.

Among other bold steps which Oyedokun noted had been taken by the president were the proclamation of the tax reforms which are bound to foster fair distribution of wealth, especially for low income earners who are largely exempted from various taxes.

The establishment of regional development commission which if well implemented would give each zone opportunities to grow and develop at its own pace, very much like the experience of governance in the old western and eastern regions.

“His focus on youth development, coupled with prominence given to programmes on women through the office of the First Lady are commendably encouraging amid their long-term and lasting benefits.

“This is why affording President Tinubu a second term in office would serve as ensuring stability and promoting developments in all ramifications.”

Turning to Alhaji Atiku whom he described as the architect of his own political misfortune, the APC chieftain recalled his days with Atiku in the PDP and pointed out that by this “new miscalculation”, he might have been reacting impetuously over his self-inflicted loss in the 2023 presidential election.

He argued that he rode roughshod against popular decision that Senator Ayu should step down as the national chairman.

“It was this miscalculation which spelt the doom of PDP and put an inglorious self-defeatist end to his own political career.

“Against reason and political commonsense , Atiku also abandoned party loyalists in favour of political mercenaries who are not accustomed to our winning culture and as birds of passage, they fled with their loot as soon as things turned sour at the end of the day,” Oyedokun said.

He said instead of Atiku to work towards rebuilding the house which his ambition had destroyed, he is acting like a confusionist, adding salt on injury by drawing away members from there into a coalition of misadventure.

Oyedokun stated that he was not impressed by the array of personalities in the coalition, noting that they were merely playing to the gallery and that they were of no political consequence in the 2027 election which he predicted would be won by the APC.
