The National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, scheduled to hold on Tuesday has been postponed indefinitely.
The postponement was announced on Monday by the chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu.
Speaking with journalists shortly after a meeting held between some governors and President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, he disclosed that the postponement was at the instance of the governors.
At the meeting were Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola; Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State; Babagana Zulum of Borno State; Godwin Obaseki of Edo; Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State and Abubakar Bello of Niger State.
Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau, Aminu Masari of Katsina, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State; Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State were present too.
The idea of the meeting was a source of controversy within the party.
While some leaders of the party believe that the meeting was necessary, others saw mischief in its arrangement, believing it was designed against suspended national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
