The postponement was announced in a statement issued by the national secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore.

While expressing the inconveniences the action of the party might have caused, Omisore said it had to be postponed because of the schedule of President Bola Tinubu who emerged the new chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, on Sunday.

The national caucus is a statutory organ of the party, chaired by President Tinubu.

Its membership is made up of the vice president and all the former governors, serving governors and members of the National Working Committee, among others.
