Anambra guber: INEC declares Soludo winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday declared Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, winner of the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State.

He recorded 422,664 votes.

The announcement was made on Sunday by the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, at the INEC headquarters in Awka.

He said Soludo polled 422,664 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chief Nichols Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 99,445 votes.

The candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, Mr Paul Chukwuma, recorded 37,753 votes while the candidate of the Labour Party, George Moghalu, scored 10,576 votes.

John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, polled 8,208 votes.
