The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has resigned his appointment.

His resignation followed his alleged forgery of certificates of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, which he presented to secure his appointment as minister.

In his letter of resignation, he thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for allowing him to serve.

Nnaji said he had been a target of blackmail by political opponents.

Accepting his resignation, the president thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours.

President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
