President Bola Tinubu has accepted the resignation of his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale.

Ngelale announced his resignation on Saturday, saying the decision was taken for health reasons.

In a statement by the Presidency, the president was said to have accepted Ngelale’s reason for the leave.

He was said to have fully understood his reason for the decision and sympathizes with the circumstances that led to “this seemingly difficult” action.

While extending his heartfelt prayers and best wishes to Ngelale and his family during the challenging moment, the president said he hoped for a speedy recovery and full restoration to health.

The president noted Ngelale’s “tireless efforts and dedication in serving the nation, and thanks him for the remarkable contributions he made in his various capacities, especially in advancing national discourse and leading efforts on climate action and other key initiatives.”

The president wished him well in all his future endeavours.

During this period, we kindly ask that the wish for privacy of Chief Ngelale and his family be respected, the president said.
