The member of the House of Representatives, representing Ose – Owo Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Hon. Oluwatimehin Adelegbe, has called on farmers in Nigeria to live up to expectation in the provision of agricultural products for the generality of Nigerians.
Adelegbe charged cocoa farmers in his constituency to promote the glory of their fore-fathers who he described as “ cocoa farmers of repute.
The legislator made the call during a skills development exercise for cocoa farmers and empowerment of traders and artisans in selected communities of Uso and Owo local government areas of Ondo State.
Over 15,000 cocoa seedlings were distributed to the farmers with necessary chemicals to ensure maturity.
Also, N85 million cash was given as empowerment and grant to traders and artisans at the ward level of the local government areas of the state.

The projects which were sponsored by the federal government and executed through Famad Technology Nig. Limited as contractor was supervised by the National Directorate of Employment, NDE.
N100, 000 was given to each of the beneficiaries to upgrade their farms and businesses.
According to Adelegbe, unemployment, hunger and poverty are the major challenges responsible for banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and other social ills bringing the country to its knees.
“The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised to return Nigeria to her glorious days but it needs our support. We need to look inward and be self-sufficient. It is time for all of us to go back to the farm,” the legislator said.
