The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has announced that the first set of Nigerian pilgrims have begun the second leg of their spiritual journey from Madina to Makkah.
The announcement was made in Abuja on Wednesday in a statement by NAHCON’s Information Officer, Malam Aminu Kabir.
The statement reads in part: “Today marks the fourth day of the first set of Nigerian pilgrims to arrive in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, precisely the city of Madina for the 2025 Hajj.

“As a policy agreed upon by stakeholders, pilgrims are to spend four days in Madina before proceeding to Makkah, hence the journey begins today with pilgrims from Bauchi, Imo, Kebbi and Kogi states.’’
NAHCON said it provided the pilgrims with accommodation and meal of international standard during their stay in Madina.
NAHCON officials in Makkah were said to have expressed their readiness to receive the Nigerian pilgrims with a warm welcome as they proceed to the next phase of the spiritual journey.
More Nigerian pilgrims continue to arrive Madina as the airlift operation progresses.
