The likely impact of a possible introduction of Islamic law in the Southern part of Nigeria on religious harmony and peaceful existence of all citizens will be debated at the inauguration of the Eti-Osa Unit of the Muslim Lawyers Association, MULAN, on Sunday.
The event will hold at Al-Hujaaj Central Mosque, Igbokusu, Lekki I, Lagos.
The Public Relations Officer of the MULAN’s unit, Mr. AbdulHakeem Makinde, made the announcement on Monday in a press statement.
He said a former Dean, Faculty of Law of the Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. F. A. R. Adeleke, would give the keynote address while a Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Kwara State – Hon. Justice Abdulraheem Ahmad Sayi would deliver the special lecture at the event.

The spokesman also announced that the occasion would feature the swearing-in of the members of the executive committee of the unit, namely Mr. Olawale Ajia (Chairman); Imam Ahmad Manir (Vice-Chairman); Mr. Sulaiman Abdulsalam (Secretary); Mr. Qudus Adeoye (Assistant Secretary); Mrs. Hauwa Ibrahim Uthman (Treasurer); Mrs. Kehinde Abdulrasheed (Financial Secretary); Mr. Abdulhakeem Makinde (Public Relations Officer) and Mrs. Sekinat Makanjuola (Welfare Secretary).
Personalities expected at the ceremony include Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi of Ikateland; Oba Abdulhakeem Olokodana – the Alakodo of Akodoland; Hon. Justice Abdullahi Al-Ilory, the Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Federal Capital Territory; Alhaji Abdul Jaleel Animashaun – CEO, Al-Hujaaj Hajj and Umrah Services; judges, senior advocates of Nigeria and other prominent lawyers.
