I am shocked, surprised and dismayed that so many of you have been dragging the Man of God over his decision to humiliate a member of his household. We don’t have to apologize (in Nigeria) for hurting our children except when those human rice people like Edoamaowo Udeme and Alu Azege are close by. So, I think Ọ̀ga Pastor has a spiritual right to discipline a member he thinks is lying.

Fẹs of fẹs, please note that s/he who goes to the business center to give a testimony does so at their own risk. I am so happy that the pastorpreneur in question is not one man of God reputed for his capacity to slap witchcraft out of young children. He would have slapped lying out of her on the altar, wallahi.

So, this urbane businessman who is slightly out of touch with reality and as usual, too elevated to give himself the benefit of the doubt and make enquiries has made a mistake. I don’t think he is to be blamed. Remember, touch not mine anointed. Priests are infallible.

On a personal note, if I had not been in Ottawa, slightly monitoring my son’s educational pursuits, I would have blown a gasket if he told me he was graduating with B.A. yes, Bachelor or Arts in, wait for it, Biology. But he did, almost two years ago and I was witness. That is because certain courses have been broken down to such level that you can choose the scientific part or the pure art part of it. And it is legit.

Another instance is that Carleton also runs a B.A. in Law because law is not just for lawyers. There are law graduates pursuing other disciplines and helping to make our lives better, as legal draftsmen, legal communicators, criminologists etc.

Fẹs of fẹs, please note that s/he who goes to the business center to give a testimony does so at their own risk. I am so happy that the pastorpreneur in question is not one man of God reputed for his capacity to slap witchcraft out of young children.

I truly empathize with the woman who came out in her Sunday best and with joy and accomplishment written all over her face. To be so shunned, disparage and disrespected by a man whose pastorpreneuring credentials are subjects of ridicule on social media could be painful. In civilised societies, if the pastorpreneur cares so much about veracity of claims, he would have vetted the testimony before allowing it to be beamed live! I believe the lady is entitled to remedies and that people should be pursuing these tortuous infringements for the sake of sanity in the house of faith.

I hope the lady in question puts her credentials to use by suing this man if he does not come out with proper apology. But I know that she’d be warned…touch not mine anointed. It would even follow with threats. That’s Nigeria for you.

As for the grammar, truth is that we have seen worse. I graduated in English from the Better by Far Unilorin decades ago, but do you know I am ashamed sometimes of the common mistakes I make in speech, in posts and even writing? Yes, I am. There are times when, after reading my column, I feel like hiding in the cleft of Aso Rock, but we pick up, fire up and improve.

Best wishes Madam graduate. You believed you broke a family jinx because they made you believe that not being a graduate is as a result of some curse which your new life in Christ is not sufficient to counter. This writer has a few degrees, some rags of experience but in Canada, he has been status-less, jobless, a personal support worker, a clinic receptionist and now an evil, sorry a civil servant…none of which is relevant to his few degrees. As long as it pays the mortgage, fuels the Tokunbo in the abroad and keeps him out of the streets, he doesn’t care. If it bothers you, Na you sabi.

Degrees are important, but being employed or creating jobs is more important, sorry should I say more importanter? Anyway, grammar no be money and you get the gist. Idea is need.
