The Commissioner for Education in Rivers State, Prof. Prince Mmom, has resigned.
Mmom made this known on Thursday in a letter sent through the office of the Secretary to Rivers State Government, SSG, to the governor in Port Harcourt.
Mmom in his letter, said his resignation was for personal reasons.
“I hereby resign my appointment as the Commissioner for Education, Rivers State, for personal reasons.
“I wish to express my sincere appreciation to you for the opportunity given to me to serve in your administration and wish you the best as you carry on with the government of our dear state,” the letter reads.

Recall that the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Prof. Zaccheaus Adangor, had earlier resigned on Thursday.
It was learnt that more of the commissioners have resigned from the State Executive Council.
Those who have also resigned include Commissioner for Social Welfare, Mrs Inime Aguma; Commissioner for Works, Dr. Kelly George; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Chukwuemeka Woke, and the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu.
