The federal government has promised to investigate the situation surrounding the death of a Nigerian in the Republic of Philippines.

The Nigerian who is simply identified as Ikem was said to have been murdered by a group of Chinese in the country.

The promise was made by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Abdur-Rahman Balogun.

The government said although the matter had not been officially reported to the Nigerian embassy in the Philippines, NIDCOM had asked the “eyewitness” who posted the gory incident on his social media handle to provide more details to the commission’s e-mail [email protected].

“The commission will set the machinery in motion to investigate the matter and unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the spokesman announced.
