Efforts are in top gear to ensure the rescue of the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Samuel Kanu Uche, and two others kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday.
The Police Public Relation Officer in Abia State, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, made this known while confirming the kidnap to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.
The prelate was kidnapped along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, in Umunneochi local government area of Abia.
He was kidnapped alongside Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark, the Methodist Bishop of Owerri and the Prelate’s Chaplain.
Speaking to NAN on the development, the police spokesman called for credible information from the public to help in the rescue mission.
His words: “It’s quite unfortunate. Efforts are in top gear toward his rescue as well as other priests with him.
“We solicit credible information from the public toward their rescue, please.”
