In order to get the full support of Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Ogun State governorship election which comes up on Saturday, the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, candidate in the state, Abiodun Akinlade, has reached an agreement with him (Adebutu).

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, is involved in the agreement which borders on how posts and contracts will be shared if Akinlade is voted in, following the support of Adebutu.

In the Memorandum of Understanding by the duo which was seen by FrontPage, it was agreed that there would be allocation of positions in Government to Adebutu’s group.

The memorandum reads in part:

“This working understanding is made this day 7th March 2019 between Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, the governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement, APM, and Hon. Ladi Adebutu, leader of Ladi Adebutu’s group in PDP, Ogun State.

“Understandings:

“a. The parties hereby agree to work together and support to ensure the victory of Hon. Akinlade at the March 9, 2019 governorship election in Ogun State.

“b. The parties also agree that Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s group would mobilise his full machineries to support the election victory of Hon. Adekunle Akinlade

“c. That Senator Amosun and Hon. Adekunle Akinlade hereby agree and Ladi Adebutu concur to the following allocation of positions in government and immediate attention to the infrastructure project as listed here with:

“1.2 positions:

* Commissioners (2)

* Special Assistants (5)

It would be recalled that Adebutu lost the governorship ticket of the PDP in Ogun State to Buruji Kashamu.

On his part, Akinlade who could not clinch the governorship ticket of APC moved to APM with the support of Amosun who remains in APC.

Amosun has been giving all the needed support to Akinlade.

With the preparations ahead of the contest for the governorship post appearing to be very intense, there have been some forms of coalition of forces by the different candidates and key players.

On Thursday, former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who is a chieftain of the PDP endorsed the APC candidate, Dapo Abiodun.

He called on his supporters to vote for him, being a bonafide son of Remo.
