One policeman was killed and another person injured when gunmen attacked Eziama Uli in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State on Thursday during a medical outreach.
DSP. Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Anambra State, confirmed the incident on Friday.
Ikenga described the incident as unfortunate but said it was part of sacrifice made by police personnel in providing protection for the people.
“The details of the incident are still sketchy but it involves police personnel providing security services.
“Operatives have cordoned off the area, while investigation is ongoing,’’ he said
According to sources, Uli Global Ambassadors for Development Initiative, ULIGADI, organised the free medical services for the people of the community.
