Hallos, an African EdTech and creator-economy platform, is introducing Morgan Coins, a reward-based learning initiative designed to make knowledge acquisition more engaging and rewarding for students and working professionals through daily interactive quiz games.

Through its reward currency, Morgan Coins, the platform is transforming everyday learning into an engaging and rewarding experience, allowing users to earn coins by participating in short quiz competitions covering Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital marketing, entrepreneurship and academic subjects.

Rather than relying solely on lengthy lectures and passive video content, Hallos encourages learners to build knowledge through five-question quiz rounds, peer competitions and consistent daily participation.

The initiative is designed to make learning more accessible, engaging and rewarding while helping young Africans develop practical skills relevant to education, employment and entrepreneurship.

With a growing community of more than 3,000 learners and 100 creators, Hallos is expanding its reach across tertiary institutions in Nigeria, with plans to extend its operations to other African countries.

The Hallos model draws on established learning science, particularly the principle of retrieval practice, which shows that actively recalling information can improve long-term knowledge retention.

A widely cited 2008 study published in the journal Science by researchers, Jeffrey Karpicke and Henry Roediger, demonstrated the importance of repeated retrieval in strengthening long-term learning.

Hallos applies this principle through short, interactive quiz sessions that challenge learners to recall information, receive immediate feedback and improve their performance over time.

By introducing friendly competition among classmates and peers, the platform also makes learning more social and encourages consistent participation.

Its approach is inspired by Kaizen, the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement through small, consistent efforts.

The idea is that a few minutes of focused learning each day can gradually build stronger knowledge, confidence and problem-solving abilities.
