*…as ASO take on Customs in third place
It is going to be a battle of two Atlantic Conference teams in the final of the 2026 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League final, with MFM Women Basketball Team taking on First Bank on Saturday, for the ultimate title.
It was a tight fight in the semifinal game played on Friday at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, with both winners scrapping through with few points to secure the win.
First Bank defeated debutant ASO SKY Queens 61-57 points in the first semifinal while MFM scaled through with a 64-61 points win against Nigeria Customs to qualify for the final.
Nine-time champion of the league, First Bank will be hoping to secure their 10th title against a team seeking their third crown after winning it back-to-back in 2023 and 2024 season.
Defending champions of the league, Dolphins failed to make it to the Final 8 after escaping relegation on the last day of the Second Phase of the Atlantic Conference.
The third place will be between the two top teams of the Savannah Conference, Nigeria Customs and ASO SKY Queens, with the game dunking off by 2 p.m. while the final will take place by 4 p.m.
