Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured Lagosians and visitors that the government will continue to strengthen security.
The governor gave the assurance on Tuesday when he met with security chiefs at the State House, marina.
“We will not relent on our efforts to ensure that criminals don’t find a place for their evil activities in our state,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The governor was briefed on all security activities and plans to strengthen the system ahead of the end-of -year activities.
At the meeting were Police Commissioner Tijani Fatai; Brig. Gen. A.O. Owolabi, Commander, 9 Brigade, Ikeja; Commodore A. Adams-Aliu, NNS Beecroft Commander, Nigerian Navy; Air Commodore M.A. Imam, Commander 651 BSG, Ikeja and Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, Executive Secretary, Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LASTF.
Also at the meeting were Chief of Staff to the Governor, Tayo Ayinde; Secretary to the State Government, Abimbola Hundeyin, and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Lawal Pedro.
In a press statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, it was revealed that Lagos would host President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as from Tuesday.
“Several activities are being lined up for the Yuletide when an influx of visitors is expected. Besides, various religious and cultural activities. Also, political activities are picking up, following the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that campaigns can begin,” the statement reads in part.
