The National Coordinator of the National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria, NACLFON, Professor Olanrewaju Abraham, has launched an ambitious electoral mobilisation initiative tagged “Operation Go for 50.”
The initiative is aimed at mobilising over nine million Christian voters in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
Professor Abraham said NACLFON was committed to providing a formidable grassroots electoral structure for the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate.
He explained that the forum, with active structures in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, planned to achieve the target by mobilising 50 committed executive members at every level of the organisation—from the National Executive down to the Ward Executive.
In a memorandum titled “Operation Go for 50,” which has been circulated across NACLFON’s geopolitical zones, the National Coordinator emphasised that the initiative combined disciplined grassroots mobilisation with Christian values, integrity, and responsible civic engagement.
Professor Abraham noted that a detailed analysis of each state’s voter mobilisation potential would strengthen NACLFON’s national electoral strategy.
He therefore directed all Zonal Coordinators to submit comprehensive reports on their mobilisation plans through their respective state structures, describing the exercise as vital for effective planning and vote mobilisation for President Tinubu.
Explaining the significance of the initiative, Professor Abraham stated: “This exercise is essential for strategic planning. It will enable us to accurately assess our strengths, identify areas requiring improvement, and prepare effectively for the forthcoming elections.”
He added: “This analysis demonstrates NACLFON’s tremendous grassroots mobilisation potential. With proper coordination, commitment, and support, we believe we have the capacity to mobilise over nine million votes for Mr President in the next general election.”
According to him, NACLFON operates a well-structured leadership system with 50 executive officers at every level of the organisation—from the National Executive to the Ward Executive.
With Nigeria’s 8,890 wards, he said the forum intends to strategically mobilise committed members across polling units nationwide, with the ultimate goal of delivering approximately 9.8 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Professor Abraham further stressed that, in pursuing the objective, NACLFON members must remain guided by the forum’s core principles, which emphasise respect for the dignity and rights of supporters of every political party.
He also urged members across the country to reject intimidation, refrain from spreading fake news or misinformation, respect lawful authority, comply with electoral laws, and cooperate fully with electoral officials and security agencies throughout the electoral process.
He said as the Bible reminds believers, “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Professor Abraham maintained that disciplined organisation, lawful conduct, and responsible participation remained the hallmarks of credible democratic engagement.
