The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN, the umbrella body for all Muslims in the South West geo-political zone, has congratulated its deputy president, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti, on his appointment as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Crescent University, Abeokuta.
In a statement jointly signed by the president of MUSWEN, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo and Executive Secretary, Professor Wole Abbas, the organisation described the appointment as a testament to Alhaji Ebiti’s lifelong dedication to educational excellence, professional integrity, and the service of the Muslim Ummah.
“Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti is a distinguished accountant and a philanthropist of high repute whose footprints in the educational sector are already legendary,” the group noted.
MUSWEN added that “His leadership as the Pro-Chancellor of Summit University, Offa, has been marked by visionary reforms and a deep-seated commitment to student welfare and academic standards. We are confident that he will bring this same passion and expertise to Crescent University, an institution founded on the noble values of ‘Learning and Character’ by the late Prince Bola Ajibola.”
Alhaji Ebiti, who also serves as the chairman of the Ibeji Foundation, has been a pillar of support for indigent students through numerous scholarship schemes and mentorship programmes.
His emergence in this new role is seen as a strategic boost for Crescent University as it continues its mission of producing globally competitive graduates imbued with Islamic morals.
MUSWEN further noted that the appointment reinforced the synergy between top-tier Muslim professionals and faith-based academic institutions in Nigeria.
The Ummah prayed that Almighty Allah, SWT, should grant Alhaji Ebiti the wisdom, health, and divine guidance to excel in the duty to take Crescent University to greater heights.
