The spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC, Ali Mohammad Naini, has been killed in an attack.
The Tasnim news agency, which is close to the elite force, reported that the general was killed in a strike for which the IRGC blamed Israel and the United States.
Naini was described as a veteran commander who had served the Islamic Republic for more than four decades.
A growing list of Iran’s top leadership has been killed in ongoing strikes on Iran, including security chief Ali Larijani and intelligence minister Esmaeil Khatib in recent days.
Supreme leader ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the opening hours of the joint military campaign.
He has since been replaced by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
