Former chairman, Park Management System, PMS, in Oyo State, Mukaila Lamidi (a.k.a. Auxiliary), has filed a recusal application to prevent Justice Bayo Taiwo from further hearing his case.
The defendant, through his counsel, Mrs. E. O. Mbah, filed the application on Thursday during his ongoing trial at the Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan.
Consequently, the judge adjourned until April 23 to hear the recusal application.
Lamidi is facing a 17-count charge bordering on armed robbery, murder, attempted murder and possession of firearms.
The offence, according to the charge sheet, is contrary to and punishable under Section 1(2)(a) and (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, CAP RII, Vol. 14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The crime was allegedly committed at the Ikolaba residence of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on May 29, 2023.
