President of Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, has commended the Olowu of Owu and President-General of Ogun State Muslim Council, OGMC, Oba (Prof) Saka Adelola Matemilola for attending the General Purpose Committee, GPC, meeting of the organisation.
Oladejo gave the commendation in his remarks on Sunday at the GPC meeting of MUSWEN held at its secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
He described the day’s meeting as a landmark, as it was the first of such attended by a President-General of Ogun State Muslim Council.
He recalled that the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, could not attend any of the meetings throughout his tenure as President-General.
He, therefore, on behalf of all members thanked the Olowu of Owu and urged him not to relent.
Responding, Oba Matemilola commended MUSWEN for championing the cause of Muslims and Islam in the South-West, while pledging his continued support for the group.
The Ogun State Muslim Council under the leadership of the President-General, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola used the opportunity of the GPC meeting to present gifts to the immediate past Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, Prof. Muslih Tayo Yahya, on his recent retirement.
