Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board, LSFVCB, is committed to the journey towards being a world-class film agency, dedicated to empowering the Lagos film industry while ensuring a balance of creativity, compliance, and cultural integrity.
The Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, represented by Mrs. Adebimpe Oyekan-Ismaila, made the declaration at the fifth annual stakeholders conference held in Lagos.
She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and film industry practitioners.
“Together, we can achieve a harmonious blend of creativity and compliance,” she said.
Executive Secretary, Mrs. Adebukola Agbaminoja, expressed her gratitude for the industry’s support since she took resumed office.
“We must evolve into an institution that not only regulates but also supports and empowers, positioning Lagos as the creative capital of Africa,” she stated.
She said her vision included creating an ecosystem where more co-productions are achieved in Lagos, as well as having Nigerian films with local flavours celebrated and distributed globally.
The conference theme, “Navigating the Future of Film: Balancing Creativity, Compliance, and Cultural Integrity,” resonated throughout various enlightening sessions.
The event was further enriched by cultural dances and drama presentations from the LSFVCB and the Council for Arts and Culture, showcasing the vibrant heritage of Lagos.
As stakeholders commended the Lagos State government’s unwavering support, the call for continued collaboration to drive growth and excellence in the film industry was resounding.
