2026 WCQ: Super Eagles defeat Lesotho 2-1

The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Lesotho 2 – 1 in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday nine encounter in Polokwane on Friday.

Captain, William Troost-Ekong, scored the Super Eagles first goal from the spot in the 55th minute.

Substitute, Jerome Akor Adams, increased the goal 10 minutes from time, scoring from inside the box after he was set up by Victor Osimhen.

Lesotho, however, scored its only goal in the 83rd minute.

The goal by Hlompho Kalake for Lesotho followed an error from Stanley Nwabali.

Super Eagles next game on Tuesday will be with Benin Republic.
